Why Wart?

Well, I used to call myself Merlin. Because there was a character in the movie Top Gun with the handle Merlin and I thought it was a cool nickname.

But then when I started participating (a little) in this big complex Online World we call The Internet, I thought it would be a little pretentious to call myself Merlin. Since I still have so much to learn.

So recently I was rereading The Once and Future King by T. H. White (which is really a wonderful book, if you haven't read it you should) and I was reminded that when young Arthur was the student of Merlyn, he was called Wart.

And since I'm here to learn, as Arthur learned from Merlyn, it seemed appropriate (although self-deprecating) to call myself Wart.
